Job Description:

The University of Central Florida (UCF) English Language Institute, under UCF Global, is seeking adjunct instructors for the Intensive English Program (IEP). Appointments may be renewable upon successful review. Responsibilities include: teaching up to 20 hours per week (4 classes) in a wide range of IEP courses (reading, writing, speaking, listening, grammar, TOEFL / IELTS test preparation, vocabulary, U.S. culture, etc.); holding office hours; advising IEP students; participating in professional development meetings; attending faculty meetings; participating in IEP social activities; and other duties, as assigned. Candidates should have availability Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications:

A master’s degree in TESOL or Applied Linguistics from an accredited institution.

Experience teaching English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) or EFL.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Computer competency.

Ability to work in a diverse multicultural setting.

Willingness to learn and adapt to departmental expectations.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience teaching in an Intensive English Program in the U.S.

A Ph.D. in TESOL, Second Language Acquisition, or a closely related field from an accredited institution by date of appointment.

Experience with online classroom management system (Canvas | UCF Webcourses).

Experience with exam view test generator.

Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Experience in curriculum revision and design.
