Job Description:

Promotes the University to internal and external audiences, markets the University's services, engages the local community in University activities and performs government relations and legislative liaison activities. Develops, implements, and/or executes marketing communications programs. Involves work in two or more communications and marketing disciplines OR work not otherwise covered in other communications and marketing job subfamilies.

The incumbent will:


  • Use communications tools across a variety of media to effectively inform and engage target audiences; work closely with university communicators for HR-related messaging and marketing; utilize communications avenues in concert with partner offices to enhance employee awareness of university regulations, policies and procedures; and assist in creating a culture of inclusion and transparency that enhances employee relations across all employee groups and campus departments.

  • Assists HR leadership, Communications and Marketing staff, and the HR Communications Committee to develop creative, informative, and engaging communications content, including but not limited to email, website, social media and print content, designed to engage employees and motivate target audiences toward participating in and supporting key university initiatives.

  • Coordinates website design initiatives and collaborates with IT support for ongoing website maintenance. Oversees and coordinates regular website content updates to enhance the user experience.

  • Coordinates with HR and Communications and Marketing peers on improving and marketing programs that affect the UCF brand – Develops and supervises market and promotional materials and advertising media, focusing on employee engagement and related matters such as employee orientations, faculty and staff communications, campus tours, hiring procedures, and more.

  • Assists HR Leadership and Communications and Marketing with responses to campus crises and emergencies as needed. Monitors and maintains constant awareness of major issues that impact (or that have the potential to impact) Human Resources and the university, and recommends responses. Assists with responses to media and public records requests related to HR.

  • Organizes, implements, and evaluates large events and communicates with vendors to facilitate logistics of events. Assists in negotiating performance and reception event arrangements for public relations, promotion, and recruitment.

  • Contributes to planning and and implementation of a plan to best leverage employment-centered social media sites as part of an integrated HR strategy that supports the university’s goal to attract and cultivate exceptional and diverse staff.

  • Collaborates with Communications and Marketing and Academic Affairs staff to create communications for prospective employees that support the University’s faculty hiring campaigns.

  • Coordinates and assists with program development and planning, schedule management, program related travel, and equipment. Provides budgetary advice and coordination support for HR Communications.

  • Coordinates university partner relationships invested in UCF Human Resources, including participating in meetings and providing marketing consultation.

  • Assists Human Resources leadership with efforts to ensure the department’s programs, procedures, and other interactions with current and prospective employees feature exceptional customer service. Champions an environment that recognizes excellence by continuously developing expertise, prioritizing customer service, and championing best practices with technology and media.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • The incumbent must be able to effectively communicate verbally or in writing in order to successfully perform the essential tasks that have been identified above.

$36,841 to Negotiable

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree and 0+ years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated understanding of using web and social media content to achieve strategic goals.
