Job Description:

  • The Student Health Services Accounting Specialist III position performs professional accounting tasks.
  • Reconciles accounting records and ledgers.
  • Prepares/reviews invoices, purchasing card transactions, monitors department accounts, manages billing software and payment posting, and ensures compliance with regulations.
  • Initiate and/or approve fiscal transactions including the review/reconciliation of invoices and the invoice registry.
  • Manage vendor account payable process and responsible for clarification of discrepancies, mathematical accuracy, and reconciliation for approximately 20 departmental accounts.
  • Supervise USPS and OPS employees, the medical software payment posting functions, monitoring the posting of student charges, payments, and adjustments to achieve correct claim resolution.
  • Internal auditing of patient payment transactions.
  • Post medical/dental payments to the Health Services accounting system.
  • Verify and reconcile daily deposit, financial statements, and reports. Manage and reconcile the Cash Health process with clearinghouse, electronic funds, and paper checks.
  • Monitor Health Services accounting system with the University ledger system, including the verification of various charges from other departments and determine any adjustments or corrections that need to be made to both systems via journal entries.

Work Schedule:

Monday - Friday within the hours of 7:30am - 6:30pm (8 hour shifts/40 hours a week). Occasional Saturdays may be required. Hours are subject to change due to operational needs, special projects and emergencies.

$42,367 - Negotiable

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Preference may be given to candidates with excellent customer service skills.
  • Preference may be given to candidates with excellent communication skills.
  • Preference may be given to candidates with accounting experience in a healthcare setting.
