Job Description:

The Custodial Specialist III position for Student Health Services coordinates and assists supervising all aspects of daily and periodic cleaning and performs custodial and minimal maintenance duties as required. Job duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Assist in planning and supervising the daily work of custodial workers; inspects all assigned areas daily to ensure work is being carried out properly and orderly.
  • Coordinates and inspects the building for cleanliness and maintenance.
  • Assist designating work assignments for custodial workers and determining training programs.
  • Assist with implementing new procedures as needed for the department.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports, contracts, work orders and purchase requisitions for supplies and custodial equipment.
  • Coordinates and carries out cleaning projects.
  • Coordinates and assists in the setup for special events on SHS and ensures proper staffing.
  • Coordinates and works in tandem with the management of Student Health Services on issues related to effective building management.
  • Assist in ensuring the safety of the buildings from fire, flood and other hazards.
  • Provides minor repairs to the facilities, furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Ensures all equipment is working properly (electrical, plumbing, air conditioning, and other essential utilities or equipment).
  • Assist in conducting property inspections.
  • Assist with the resolution of personnel and housekeeping issues.
  • Assist with budget preparation.
  • Provides building and cleaning services for Student Health Services.

Work Schedule:

Monday – Friday; 11:00 AM-7:30 PM (8 hour shifts/40 hours a week). Occasional Saturdays may be required. Hours are subject to change due to operational needs, special projects and emergencies.

Expected Salary:

$29,069 to Negotiable

Minimum Qualifications:

Completion of 9th grade and 4+ years of relevant experience. The UCF policy requires completion and passing of a physical exam for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Custodial experience especially if in a healthcare/medical setting.
  • Floor maintenance experience.
  • General maintenance experience.
