Job Description:

The Academic Advisor II provides academic advising and student support in areas including but not limited to recruitment, career goals, orientation, enrollment, retention, and progression.

  • Provides academic advising and transition support to students to impact retention, completion, and progression in the UCF Global programs
  • Identifies and helps resolve obstacles impeding the academic success and career goals of students while in the UCF Global programs.
  • Supports students in developing a required academic plan to meet completion and progression requirements in the UCF Global programs.
  • Analyzes students' academic and personal issues/concerns and provides timely referral/intervention services.
  • Follow and explain University and UCF Global programs’ academic policies, procedures, and guidelines in order to help students to achieve their educational goals.
  • Maintains appropriate student records and documents student interactions.
  • Utilizes advising technology systems to manage student data and enrollment.
  • Coordinates and presents during UCF Global orientations and transition programming for students.
  • Coordinates specific programming for students.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule:

Monday – Friday; 8:00 AM-5:00 PM

Expected Salary:

$36,841 to Negotiable

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working directly with international students enrolled in academically oriented programs (Pathway and Intensive English program) preferred.
  • Experience working in an educational or academic institution preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently preferred.
  • Strong Communication skills.
