Job Description:

UCF IT/ISO is seeking a Security Analyst. Under general supervision, design and maintain enterprise Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) system, along with engineering security measures and capabilities for networking devices and operating systems across the enterprise. Perform all procedures necessary to ensure the safety of information systems assets and to protect systems from intentional or inadvertent access or destruction. Perform hands-on computer investigation and forensic analysis for host and network-based systems. Perform Security Operations Center (SCO) monitoring functions.

 

This position is responsible for:

 

 

  • Monitor, analyze, and advise on available security information including results from vulnerability scans, system and application and database assessments, patch information, and system configuration.
  • Proactively identify vulnerabilities, security trends, and sophisticated cyber-attack techniques to enhance the security program and safeguard our environment.
  • Utilize automated and manual testing, examination, scanning, interviewing, and discovery techniques to identify, validate, and assess security vulnerabilities.
  • Develop and conduct compliance activities to ensure security objectives and security best practices are met.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Hourly Rate:

$39 per hour

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma and 2+ years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A combination of information security experience, certifications or degrees in cyber security or related field.  Preferred certifications include but are not limited to:
  • GCIA: SEC503, Intrusion Detection In-Depth
  • GMON: SEC511, Continuous Monitoring, and Security Operations
  • SEC541: Cloud Security Monitoring and Threat Detection
