Job Description:

The Associate Director of Development, Regional Development & University-Wide Initiatives is responsible for the discovery, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major gift prospects at the $25,000+ level by developing and nurturing current and prospective donors including individuals, foundations and corporations in the assigned geographic region that helps support the University needs and priorities.

  • Manages a portfolio of major gift prospects/donors in assigned geographic regions and/or identified priority areas.
  • Responds to inquiries and communicates with donors and advisory organization members.
  • Participates in community, civic, and university activities to foster support for and involvement in development efforts
  • Maintains active communication with development officers throughout the University to inform of travel and scheduled prospect visits and coordinating prospect activity.
  • Develops travel schedule/travel plans to assigned geographic areas to provide appropriate coverage to meet fundraising goals.
  • Updates biographic, demographic and preference data for the Board in CRM donor database.
  • Conducts meetings, presentations, the preparation and submissions of proposals/case for support as necessary.
  • Acquires and maintains knowledge of and adhere to UCFF’s policies and procedures, business practices, prospect management systems, etc.
  • Pursues training, continuing education, and personal development opportunities to stay current on fundraising trends and techniques and the appropriate application of them. 
  • Completes additional assignments as may be required by the Director of Development, Regional Development & University-Wide Initiatives or other member of Advancement leadership as appropriate.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Frequent regional and national travel/overnight travel is required.  Excellent interpersonal skills of active listening, conflict resolution, and leadership. Demonstrates decisiveness and sound judgment in decision making and use of University resources. Ability to effectively communicate, handle multiple priorities, and handle the pressure of deadlines.
