Job Description:

Working under the administrative direction of the Executive Director for Advancement, Human Resources, the Professional Development Specialist is responsible for the development, implementation, evaluation and modification of comprehensive, on-going training and organization development programs for all Advancement personnel.

 

  • Develops program objectives, content, and format, either independently or in consultation with subject matter experts. 
  • Conducts training needs assessments for the division; consults with key Advancement personnel regarding training needs, analyzes data, and develops departmental training and organizational development programs to provide potential solutions; evaluates audio-visual materials and training kits for possible use in training programs; evaluates external presenters to deliver training programs; researches area consultants for possible use in training programs; assists in-house subject-matter experts to improve their effectiveness in conveying specialized subjects.
  • Presents and/or facilitates workshops and classes pertaining to team development, supervisory skills, leadership development, and other professional development workshops for Advancement employees.
  • Works with department leads to plan and implement specialized retreats, including content, assessments, SWOT analysis.
  • Assists with the ongoing, long-term improvement of employees' skills, enabling them to fulfill their potential within the organization. Assess the skills and knowledge within the organization to determine what training is needed to grow and retain these skills and provides career guidance and planning.
  • Plans and implements division employee events including regular "all employee" meetings.
  • Plans and facilitates regular supervisory and leadership training sessions.
  • Serves as a member of Advancements Human Resource Advisory Committee.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience.
