Job Description:

The Associate Director for Advancement, College of Health Professions and Sciences develops and implements a yearly strategic fundraising plan for the College of Health Professions and Sciences (CHPS) together with the Dean and Advancement leadership.


  • Manages a portfolio of annual and major gift prospects ($25,000 +), conducting appropriate identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship activities for annual and major gifts donors. Commitment to achieve assigned fundraising goals.
  • Develops a comprehensive understanding of UCF and the College of Health Professions and Sciences schools/units, programs and priorities.
  • Responsible for the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of major gifts from individuals (alumni, parents, etc.), corporations and foundations in support of priorities established for the College of Health Professions and Sciences and UCF Advancement.
  • Designs and directs fundraising “mini” campaigns as a component of the fundraising plan in collaboration with College leadership (Dean, School Chairs, Faculty) and Advancement leadership.
  • Personally communicates with, visits and solicits annual/major gift prospects and donors.
  • Meet performance objectives by maintaining a high level of development activity that results in funding and in the identification of “new” prospects.
  • Works closely with the Dean to strategically select prospects/donors for the establishment of a Dean's Advocacy Board.
  • Identifies and maintains an active pool of 100-150 prospects under management.
  • Provides support for volunteer based development efforts and assists in the recruitment of targeted individuals for Department, College and Foundation boards.
  • Utilizes donor database for tracking and contact reports on all prospects, donors and visits.
  • Develops a comprehensive understanding of all development procedures in accordance with UCF Foundation policies, and accounting practices.
  • Assists with coordinating donor recognition and stewardship events in support of fundraising goals and activities.
  • Participates in development meetings and trainings with UCF Advancement as directed.
  • Works with communication teams to develop effective donor and program stories to support UCF philanthropy.

Bachelor's or Master's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience

  • Should be able to attend and conduct meetings on and off campus, and make presentations before large and small groups.
  • Excellent interpersonal and oral communications skills, and demonstrated effective writing, and editorial skills.
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Ability to work independently; ability to work as part of a team; determine priorities; and maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Ability to travel around the state of Florida or U.S. as necessary to accomplish goals.
  • Ability and comfort working in an environment that puts strong emphasis on established goals, metrics and success.
