The University of Central Florida (UCF) has established several interdisciplinary clusters to strengthen its academic offerings and research mission. In support of this effort, we are looking to fill a tenure-track assistant professor position in the area(s) of Cyber Security and Privacy. However, well-qualified applicants will be considered for the rank of tenured associate professor or professor. This position will have an anticipated start date of August 8, 2020.
This interdisciplinary position will be expected to strengthen both the cluster and a chosen tenure home department and may include a combination of joint appointments. A strong advantage of this position is the ability of the candidate to choose a combination of units for their appointment. All relevant areas will be considered, such as (but not limited to) Mathematics, Statistics, Industrial Engineering and Management Systems, Psychology, Computer Science, Legal Studies, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Philosophy, Criminal Justice, and Political Science.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cyber security and privacy and be on an upward leadership trajectory in these areas. In particular, candidates that have a track record in security and privacy issues affecting software and systems (cloud, IoT, cyber-physical) are strongly encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate will also have research impact as reflected in high-quality publications and the ability to build a well-funded research program. We are looking for a team player who understands the technical aspects of cyber security and privacy and can help bridge current interdisciplinary campus efforts in cyber security and privacy, especially using the perspectives of one of the disciplines mentioned above. (See https://www.ucf.edu/faculty/cluster/cyber-security-and-privacy/ for a complete list of all the units involved to date.) Both individual and interdisciplinary infrastructure and startup support will be provided.
