Job Description:

The University of Central Florida (UCF) College of Medicine is seeking applicants for a non-tenure track, clinical faculty position at the assistant, associate, or professor of medicine rank in the Department of Clinical Sciences. The successful applicant will be an outstanding clinician educator who will have a general pathology practice within the HCA community hospital network and join a multi-disciplinary team of faculty to contribute to the delivery of an integrated medical education curriculum at the UCF College of Medicine.


Responsibilities for this position include a clinical pathology role with the UCF partner hospital system, HCA, and Forward Pathology Solutions. This may include various HCA hospital locations leading up to the opening of the new UCF Lake Nona Medical Center in 2020. This faculty will also teach pathology-related curriculum in the undergraduate medical education (M.D. program), with content areas that may include cardiopulmonary, reproductive/endocrine, GI/renal, musculoskeletal, neurobiology, hematology/oncology, anatomy, and cadaver autopsy pathology. The selected candidate will actively collaborate with medical education faculty in an integrated curriculum that emphasizes innovative teaching modalities. Minimum Qualifications:

Candidates must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. from an accredited school and be board certified in both anatomic and clinical pathology by the American Board of Pathology, or have completed training in the previous 2-5 years. Candidates must demonstrate a record of sustained teaching excellence in an M.D. program. Candidates must also be eligible for licensure or licensed to practice in the state of Florida and have recent clinical experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred candidates will have experience in a general pathology practice at a community hospital (expertise and/or Fellowship in GI, Breast or GYN Pathology/oncology) as well as experience developing curriculum and assessment materials and teaching pathology to preclinical students in the M.D. program. Candidates with previous experience as medical director are also preferred.
