Job Description:

Technology Service Desk

  • Open / Close Desk
  • Use Aleph ILS to process all material & material requests
    Handle basic complaints & questions
  • Assists IT manager with training and supervision of student assistants
  • Inspect & maintain technology materials for damage and proper operation.
  • Provide expert level service and instruction on public scanners, microform scanners, and public printing.
  • Provide advance instruction / support on Microsoft Office and other library applications Technical Support.
  • Initiate routine diagnostic to isolate causes of system failures and make minor repairs.
  • Inspect and provide repair solutions for loaner equipment.
  • Coordinate technology use in Library classrooms and meeting spaces.
  • Respond, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with public computers, printers, scanners and copiers.
  • Provide instruction on accessibility technology equipment
    Communicate equipment issues / supplies requests to supervisor.
  • Coordinate technology support wit IT staff for larger projects / public PC issues.
  • Assists with categorization and labeling of all LibTech Technology Checkout items.
  • Update knowledge and job skills to the latest industry standards.
  • Log statistics for desk questions and duties performed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Sunday - Thursday; 4:00 PM - 1:00 AM

Schedule varies with semester breaks and summer sessions.

Expected Salary:

$36,841

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or Equivalent and 2+ years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Solid technology background in Windows, OSX, IOS, Android and mobile /desktop hardware
  • Strong Customer Service background /skills
  • Quick thinker / problem solver/ desire to learn
  • Leadership / ability to supervise and train students
  • Previous library experience a plus, but not requirement

This position qualifies for a 5% Shift Differential rate of $1,842.05 annual.
