Job Description:

This position is responsible for collaborating with the Program Director and visiting artists to plan, design, and produce fine art projects related to Flying Horse Editions' program. Other areas of responsibility include care and maintenance of the FHE research studio and equipment, as well as assisting FHE Program Director with educational, membership, promotional and outreach activities. The person in this position must have exceptional knowledge and experience in the following printing process: photo- and direct-gravure, all aspects of etching, traditional stone- and plate- lithography, silkscreen, and complex relief; additionally must have experience working with high pressure hydraulic presses.

Promotes the University to internal and external audiences, and engages the local community in University activities. Involves producing (bookbinding, press, and edition printing), planning, scheduling, and coordinating the production of fine art prints and artwork, printed books, publications, promotional and other materials.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven success as a collaborator working in ALL the following traditional printmaking processes: etching, lithography, relief, screen print
  • Basic computer proficiency (MS Word, Excel )
  • Effective communicator
  • Proven ability to work independently
  • Five or more years of working experience as professional fine art printer
  • Advanced ability with Photoshop and Illustrator software

Special Instructions to Applicants:

This position will be required to work a flexible schedule when visiting artists are in residence, according to the artists' preferred working schedule, which may include evenings, night, and/or weekends.
