Job Description:

The School of Kinesiology and Physical Therapy in the College of Health Professions and Sciences (CHPS) at the University of Central Florida (UCF) invites applications for a tenure-earning assistant professor or a tenured associate professor within Kinesiology. The individual selected for this position will conduct research, teach in kinesiology, engage in writing, submitting and receiving external grants to support program and research initiatives, mentor graduate students, serve on student thesis and dissertation committees, and serve on departmental and college committees. This position has an anticipated start date of August 8, 2020.

Minimum Qualifications:

An earned doctorate (Ph.D.) in Kinesiology or a closely related field from an accredited institution.


Candidates for a tenure-earning assistant professor position must have proven ability in conducting and publishing research, working collaboratively within a research team, have a strong potential to obtain external funding, and can demonstrate evidence of successful university teaching in exercise physiology or a related discipline.


Candidates for a tenured associate professor position must have a proven record of securing external funding to support their line of research, a productive publication record in high-impact journals related to their area of expertise and the ability to provide additional leadership within the School of Kinesiology and Physical Therapy. To be hired with tenure, the selected candidate must have a demonstrated record of teaching, research, and service commensurate with rank.

Preferred Qualifications:

Ability to work collaboratively within shared research space, and evidence of successful university teaching in kinesiology, exercise physiology, or a related discipline. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have research expertise that is in line with or expands upon the expertise of existing faculty in Kinesiology.
