Job Description:

The Department of Educational Leadership and Higher Education in the College of Community Innovation and Education (CCIE) at the University of Central Florida (UCF) invites applications for the position of visiting lecturer of Educational Leadership.  The Educational Leadership Program is robust and impactful with an enrollment of approximately 400 students in the M.Ed., M.A., Ed.S., and Ed.D. degree programs. UCF holds a Carnegie classification of Research University-Very High and the Educational Leadership program has an established reputation as a rigorous and respected program. Educational institutions and other organizations in central Florida and the nation seek our graduates for administrative, research, policy, and other leadership positions. 

 

Primary responsibilities of this position include teaching courses in the Educational Leadership Program at the master’s and doctoral degree levels.  Additional responsibilities may include mentoring graduate students by advising, chairing dissertations, participating on dissertation committees, and collaborating with other academic programs. The selected candidates may also serve on departmental, college, and university-wide committees and contribute to continued program improvement.

Minimum Qualifications:

Conferred doctorate in Educational Leadership, Educational Administration, Educational Policy, or a closely related field from an accredited institution; leadership experience in PK-12 education, state or national educational policy organizations, or related K-12 educational contexts at the time of application.

Preferred Qualifications:

Expertise is preferred in one or more of the following areas of instructional leadership -- urban education, social justice, professional development, or related areas.

 

Experience is desired in preparing emerging or practicing school leaders for leadership in diverse environments or teaching in higher education.
