UCF Resource Management is seeking well qualified candidates to apply for the role of Accounting Specialist II. Duties of this position include but are not limited to:

  • Perform the monthly reconciliation of construction projects; review PeopleSoft Financials and other appropriate systems; update spreadsheets and research discrepancies between F&A and the Facilities & Safety Business Office.

  • Create purchase order requisitions utilizing PeopleSoft Financials for Contracts, Change Orders: approve payments of vendor/professional services invoices; review supporting documentation and post entries in the appropriate financial system.

  • Prepare journals for minor project funding requests, review minor project pay applications, review change orders and DOPO paperwork, and update the appropriate financial system, as needed.

  • Generates accounting reports to assist the assigned Facilities & Safety department(s) with expenditure tracking and fund availability. Analyzes budget and expenditure in order to provide estimates to Facilities and Safety and Resource Management Directors as well as the immediate Supervisor within the Business Office.

  • Serve as a liaison between contractors and Finance & Accounting (F&A); provide customer service support to departments and vendors; resolve issues and expedite payments to ensure timely processing of construction invoices and change orders.

  • Approves PCard transactions for various Facilities & Safety departments.

  • Perform other duties, as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or Equivalent and 2+ years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Detail-oriented and able to produce top quality results.
  • Capable of analyzing situations and reach appropriate decisions.
  • Able to utilize available resources to independently complete assignments.
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, Adobe Professional and PeopleSoft
