Job Description:

The College of Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Central Florida (UCF) is recruiting for a visiting lecturer or visiting instructor in the Department of Computer Science (CS). This position is part of a grant intended to expand participation in computing and involves teaching students with no programming experience how to program in Python.


The job rank will be dependent upon the selected candidate's qualifications. The anticipated starting date will be January 4, 2021.


The Department of Computer Science at UCF is home to the first computer science Ph.D. program in Florida. It employs 12 lecturers and instructors. Its 34 tenured and tenure-track faculty are engaged in world-class research in HCI, computer vision, AI and machine learning, virtual reality, cyber security and privacy, and many other areas. Minimum Qualifications:

A Ph.D., terminal degree, or foreign degree equivalent (for lecturer), or M.S. (for instructor) from an accredited institution in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related discipline by the start of the appointment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given to applicants with a strong record of teaching.

Special Instructions to Applicants:

This non-tenure track appointment is for a 9-month, annually renewable position for up to four academic years (maximum).


This position is funded by contracts and grants and is contingent upon available funding.
