Job Description:

The Assistant Director of Young Alumni Engagement and Philanthropy manages and directs UCF Alumni initiatives that increase alumni engagement and annual giving through scalable, young alumni-based programs that leverage the power of technology to expand our national footprint. Interaction with alumni and friends will focus on both in person and virtual engagement opportunities to expand the reach of UCF Alumni to a wider audience.

The responsibilities the of the Assistant Director, Young Alumni Engagement & Philanthropy also include:

  • Overseeing the direction and activities of UCF Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving's young alumni program including the Young Alumni Council and their volunteer leadership. Responsibilities include identifying, recruiting, and training volunteer leadership as well as managing, reporting, and evaluating activities of the council.

  • Working with the leadership of the UCF Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving department to develop and execute goals that increase alumni engagement and philanthropy. Expand young alumni participation through scalable programmatic initiatives and offerings that drive engagement and lead to philanthropy.

  • Growing the national footprint of volunteer opportunities through new technology to reach a wider audience. Educate volunteer leaders on UCF Advancement's priorities and initiatives. Utilize their networks to share their UCF story and the power of philanthropy.

  • Creates, manages, and executes in person and virtual programming, meetings and events as necessary, leveraging the power of technology. Oversees bookings, contract negotiation, and budget creation of activities for young alumni programming to include Homecoming, 30 Under 30, and other various events.

  • Collaborates with the Annual Giving team for young alumni solicitation to focus on increasing young alumni participation.

  • Enhance the student to alumni transition with a focus on increasing retention of new graduate engagement and philanthropy.

  • Collaborate with UCF entities and leverage campus partners to help promote and host strategic engagement events and support young alumni programming.

  • Write and manage content for alumni communications, including electronic communications, web content, social media, and direct mail for distribution to alumni. Updates and maintains the young alumni page of the Alumni Engagement website and social media avenues.

  • Leverages UCF Advancement's constituent database to record, track and measure all young alumni engagement activities to positively impact alumni participation performance metrics.

  • Safeguard the confidentiality of constituent and departmental information and comply with UCF Advancement's data privacy and integrity standards.

Work Schedule:

Monday - Friday; 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with ability to work nights and weekends and limited travel, as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and be a superb editor with demonstrated service orientation and diplomacy, fostering relationships, and building rapport.

  • Be able to multi-task; be highly organized and detail-oriented, have effective organizational and time management skills; be an independent worker with adept problem-solving and project management skills, a strategic and critical thinker; and have an enthusiastic and energetic attitude.

  • Familiar with Microsoft Office and a high level of comfort with technology.

  • Demonstrated experience working with databases, websites, and social media.

  • Prior event experience preferred; previous alumni relations experience is a plus.

  • Have a high level of interpersonal and organizational skills essential.

  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and travel as required.
