Job Description:

  • On-going Internship procedures; to include but not limited to manage student/employer records and collect data for use in preparing reports related to the internships. Assist students with credit registration as necessary and is responsible for executing FERPA and University rules and regulations of student privacy when working with students.
  • Facilitate student application of the Career professionalism modules by meeting with assigned students, providing direction and resources, and monitoring progress. This includes providing advice and feedback on career search tools such as assessments, career plan, resume, interviewing, networking, job expo activities, internships, etc.
  • Facilitate student advisory sessions each week and more during peak times. Provide one-on-one appointments for students interested in internships; conduct pre-employment referral interview to assess qualifications based on education, experience, ability, aptitude and other criteria; provide instruction on work place expectations, etiquette and job keeping skills. 
  • Responsible for preparing and conducting workshops, and presentations on behalf of the College in various activities including but not limited to internships, Open Houses, Orientation Major Fairs and in-classroom presentations of various advising topics.
  • The position may be responsible in assisting in the facilitation of the college Internship courses as needed to include but not limited to promotion, maintenance and grading of assignments.
  • Establish, monitor and maintain accurate records of student and employer information through but not limited to the use of Knightline/Salesforce, myKnightStar and Eventbrite.

Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Occasional late evenings and Saturday.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's and 2+ years of relevant experience or Masters degree and 0+ years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Preference will be given to individuals with previous experience that demonstrates excellent interpersonal coaching and professional development skills, and the ability to effectively work within a team environment.
  • Additional preferences include previous experience in professional development, employment placement, and professional development, employment placement, and coaching activities such as job search strategies, resume critiquing, and mock interviewing.
  • Preferred candidates will have excellent communications skills and the ability to work collaboratively with fellow staff members, faculty, and employer organizations.
  • Experience in staffing and human resource recruiting is beneficial.
  • Other desirable qualifications include previous industry experience in areas related to degree programs offered by the college.
