Job Description:

This position will report to the Manager, Applications Systems Programmer. Responsible for the implementation and maintenance of new applications, develop procedures and policies for applications, and design, test, document, and code implementation of software applications. Expected to maintain proficiency and awareness of campus technologies, information security best practices, and trends in higher education. Job duties include but are not limited to the following:

Software Development

  • Responsible for the development, testing, documentation, and code implementation of utilities to convert data to specified formats.
  • Implementation and maintenance of new applications.
  • Provide Internet and intranet enhancements and development of web based applications for patients, students, faculty, and staff.
  • Responsible for the enhancement and customization of vendor-based packages functionality with APIs.
  • Document, develop, and implement security and access controls for supported web applications.
  • Utilize the highest technical level of expertise with various software and programming techniques to develop and maintain applications and their underlying databases. Tools include, but are not limited to ASP.NET, C#, SQL Server, Oracle, etc.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of software and procedures to facilitate smooth integration between Medical Affairs systems and external systems that will provide Medical Affairs patients, students, faculty, staff, and administrators with easy and secure access to information.
  • Works with a team that builds cooperative relationships with the faculty, College of Medicine administration, biomedical researchers, university administration, and the off-campus health sciences community; and participates in local, state, regional, and national professional associations.

Administrative

  • Work with Medical Affairs staff, affiliated university entities and associated vendors to gather and assess system requirements for application development.
  • Supports the Medical Affairs internal and external data collection and reporting needs.
  • Document application development procedures and policies.

Other duties, as assigned

  • Contributes to the overall success of the College by performing all other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.
  • Job duties will apply to all areas of the COM, UCF Health and Burnett Biomedical Medical. There will be limited interaction with AHSC components and teaching hospital at this time. The level of interaction and collaboration will change to encompass the AHSC and teaching hospital as the efforts towards establishing and building out the campus.

$64,518 to Negotiable

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High degree of knowledge in systems analysis and design techniques.
  • Strong experience with web-programming languages:
    ASP.Net, html, C#, .NET / .NET Core, SQL Server, REST APIs, JavaScript, Bootstrap, Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Ability to coordinate and participate in computer systems development.
  • Ability to communicate with academic administrator and be able to demonstrate effective teaching techniques in presenting new systems.
  • Working knowledge of SQL Server, MS Access or other database design and development environments.
