Job Description:

Develops and implements yearly strategic fundraising plans in collaboration with the Assistant Vice President for Advancement, Corporate and Foundation Relations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Identifies, cultivates, solicits and stewards philanthropic gifts supporting university strategic priorities from corporations and foundations.

  • Compiles, collaborates and creates proposals for different corporations and foundations supporting the university.

  • Actively engages in establishing long-term partnerships and strengthens existing relationships with corps/founds as well as other key communities that will result in funding for the immediate and long-term goals of the university.

  • Builds internal relationships with advancement officers, Deans and faculty within colleges and units to acquire an understanding of the university’s academic and research portfolios to identify strong matches for potential funders.

  • Identifies funding opportunities university wide, disperses them throughout the colleges/units and makes decisions on next steps should there be multiple funding interests. Works with specific companies and community agencies to interface academic programs, activities, and research with their specific needs and project requirements.

  • With support from the Prospect Research team, prioritizes and interprets data to ensure portfolio is populated with top prospects and actively manages a major gift portfolio of major gift prospects (corporations, foundations, etc.)

  • With support from Executive Assistant-Corps/Founds., prepares supporting documentation for gift acceptance in accordance with UCF Foundation accounting procedures including gift and pledge agreements and enters contact reports and proposals into the UCFF database.

  • Coordinates schedules and creates agendas for major gift prospect visits to campus in conjunction with Executive Assistant-Corps/Founds.

Work Schedule:

Monday - Friday; 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with the ability to work nights and weekends and travel, as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree and 6+ years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and be a superb editor, with demonstrated service orientation and diplomacy; the ability to multi-task; be highly organized and detail-oriented.

  • Experienced corporate and foundation relations fundraising professional with demonstrated track record of personally closing gifts of $500K or more.

  • Ability to synthesize complex sources of information and prepare proposals.

  • Demonstrates decisiveness and sound judgment in decision making and use of University resources.

  • An inquisitive and entrepreneurial professional motivated by the opportunity to build a vision and strategy for industry relations.
