Job Description:

The UCF Health Nurse Manager's primary responsibility is to assist physicians and clinical support staff with daily coordination of patient care. Ensuring the needs of the patient are met, and that staff are trained and provided the tools for excellent patient care. Primarily responsible for daily supervision and training/development of clinical support staff at the clinic.

 

  • Responsible for the recruitment, hiring, evaluation, development, and discipline of staff.
  • Assist in short and long term planning for clinical operations. May represent UCF Health in committees, meetings or University activities.
  • Collaborates as part of clinic administration to develop, implement, and improve service lines including operational work flow, personnel and equipment & supply set up. Develop and implement operating and compliance protocols.
  • Coordinates and facilities patient care services to ensure optimal operational effectiveness.
  • Coordinates daily resources and assigns them to area of greatest need, ensures adequate staffing. Creates and maintains employee schedule.
  • Approves time and leave for assigned employees, verifies time in Kronos to ensure timely and accurate payroll.
  • Coordinates the orientation, training, and continuing education of nurses, medical assistants and ophthalmic technicians. 
  • Works closely with Practice Leadership and Medical Directors to problem solve and continuously improve day to day operations.
  • Oversees annual and monthly employee health and compliance testing and training; ensures compliance with all applicable regulations.
  • Participates in various monthly committee and weekly leadership meetings.
  • Mange the ordering and evaluation of clinical supplies, equipment and medical inventory.
  • Manage and coordinate the patient scheduling process, provide ongoing process evaluations, and develop and implement appropriate changes when needed.
  • Plan, coordinate and evaluate patient care in coordination with appropriate service line leadership to ensure the needs of the patient are met.
  • Address and handle employee grievances in a confidential and respectful manner.

Hours of work:

8:00 AM-5:00 PM. Hours and location of work may flex based on scheduling and coverage needs. Regular and reliable attendance is expected.

Work Schedule:

Monday – Friday; Full-time, no weekends.

Negotiable

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or Equivalent and 6+ years of relevant experience or a Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience. Licensed as a registered nurse in accordance with Chapter 464, Florida Statutes or eligible to practice nursing in accordance with Section 210, Florida Administrative Code.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a clinical leadership/management role.
  • Ability to multi-task and handle multiple demands simultaneously.
  • Previous experience with EHR (eClinicalWorks).
