The Opportunity:
UCF’s Student Success and Well-Being Office of Student Involvement is currently accepting applications for an Assistant Director, Student Involvement. The position assists the Director of the Office of Student Involvement (OSI) in the initiation, planning, development, and implementation of a comprehensive campus life program to include but not limited to: student governance, cultural events, concerts, social events, leadership activities, Homecoming activities. In addition to providing leadership to our UCF Rosen Campus by supporting programing and services offered by Rosen Life.
This is an Auxiliary-funded position. Employment is subject to availability of funding and may cease at the time funding for this employment is depleted.
Responsibilities:
Develop and recommend policies relating to student governance, cultural events, concerts, social events, leadership activities, homecoming activities, for main campus and our regional campuses, in particular UCF Rosen Campus.
Act as an integral part of the OSI team in its efforts to create and/or maintain student development/leadership programs.
Supervise two full time staff members that are responsible for the following programming areas: Campus Activities Board, Late Knights, Homecoming and Knight-Thon (UCF Dance Marathon).
Assist in insuring that the goals and objectives of OSI are communicated and achieved, such as assisting the scheduling and calendaring of campus life activities.
Advise various committees/functions of all OSI programs and student boards including, but not limited to: Student Government (SG), the Campus Activities Board (CAB), Volunteer UCF (VUCF), Homecoming, Late Knights, and special event programming.
Counsel and advise OSI student leaders on the development and implementation of programs.
Responsible for liaison activities among responsible areas and other departments.
Working with OSI and other university partners, develop and implement organizational development programs, workshops, and interventions for a variety of organizational context. Rosen Campus Life.
Responsible for the planning, development and implementation of Student Life sponsored programs, events, and services for students at the Rosen College of Hospitality Management (RCHM).
Develop and maintain an effective collaborative relationship as a liaison between UCF's SSWB division and faculty, staff, and students of the RCHM.
Responsible for contract management and SAFE Form Review Process on behalf of office.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's and 4+ years of relevant experience or Master’s degree and 2+ years of relevant experience with at least 1+ year(s) of leadership experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration or similar area.
Experience with student programming and advising student organizations
