The Opportunity
The College of Business Administration (CBA) DeVos Sport Business Management program at the University of Central Florida (UCF) is pleased to invite applications for a 9-month, tenured associate professor or professor to begin in August 2025 in the DeVos Sport Business Management Program. The selected candidate can be appointed with tenure in the departments of Management, Marketing, Accounting, Economics, Finance or Integrated Business. The normal teaching load is two classes each fall and spring semester. The teaching assignment will be one course each in the program’s Sport Business Management master’s degree program and undergraduate minor with the other two courses in one of the other business school disciplines. Responsibilities also include university and professional service outcomes sufficient to maintain AACSB academic qualifications for teaching and research at a doctoral-granting university. The DeVos program courses place a heavy emphasis on student engagement, experiential learning, and oral communication (presentation).
The DeVos Sport Business Management program at the University of Central Florida offers a globally ranked Sport Business Management master’s degree program which is awarded along with an MBA to qualified students. The program is funded through an endowment provided by the Richard & Helen DeVos Foundation. It is the largest donation ever given to a sports business/management-related program. Minimum Qualifications:
At the time of application, applicants must hold a doctoral degree from an accredited institution in management, marketing, finance, economics, accounting, or a closely related field.
Candidates must possess a portfolio of published research and be currently engaged in an active research program in the field.
To be eligible for appointment as a tenured associate professor (and/or professor) upon hire, the selected candidate must have a demonstrated record of teaching, research, and service commensurate with a tenured faculty appointment at the rank of associate professor (and/or professor).
Candidates must clearly describe how their qualifications meet or exceed these minimums in their cover letter and curriculum vitae.
Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates should be willing to contribute to the innovation of the program and curriculum and play an active role in mentoring graduate students.
As senior faculty, candidates are expected to participate in the development activities of the program.
A demonstrated history of high-quality teaching outcomes regarding course delivery, student learning, grading discipline, and student perception is expected.
Previous experience teaching at the graduate level, specifically with MBA students is required.
