The Opportunity:

The Office of Student Involvement (OSI) is seeking a Student Programs Coordinator II to assist in the initiation, planning, development, and implementation of a comprehensive campus life program, including but not limited to: student governance, leadership development, social activities, educational programming, community service, and cultural events. The Student Programs Coordinator II oversees Downtown Student Engagement and Downtown Student Life.

This position/classification may be moved at management's discretion within the SSWB division to a commensurate level position as determined by the Vice President of Student Success and Well-Being or his/her designee.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the initiation, planning, and execution of Downtown Student Life, which plans events and programs throughout the year for the Downtown Campus, about 50-75 programs throughout the year.

  • Responsible Downtown Student Engagement, which is a collaboration with Valencia College, focusing on campus life programming, support of student organizations, management of Student Life office space, including supporting the game room, equipment management/check-out process, and volunteerism/community engagement partnership.

  • Responsible for recruitment, selection, on-boarding, orientation, and supervision/advising of student leaders (both paid and volunteer positions) for Downtown Student Life. This includes management of schedules and timesheets in Workday, and management of approximately 6-8 temporary student employees (both UCF and Valencia), and 4 volunteer student leaders.

  • Responsible for the development of a comprehensive training program for students on issues related to event planning, student involvement, leadership development, community service best practices, and budget management.

  • Responsible for collaborating with internal/external vendors while negotiating and managing contracts on behalf of OSI/Downtown Student Engagement/Downtown Student Life.

  • Support the Office of Student Involvement and university with the execution of major, campus-wide programs, including but not limited to: Pegasus Palooza (Welcome Week), Family Weekend, Homecoming (Spirit Splash Fireworks), CAB UCFest, Symphony Under the Stars, Knight-Thon, Opening Knight, and Eternal Knights.

  • Maintain working relationships with campus and local partners including, but not limited to: Valencia College, Downtown community partners/nonprofits, Downtown and main-campus partners, Alumni Association, and local business to support programming services.

  • Responsible for managing Downtown Student Life budgets (approximately $130,000), student leaders budget oversight, budget allocation, initiation purchases, creation of requisitions/purchase orders, and reconciling within expenses within Workday, made on behalf of each agency

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience or Master’s degree and 0+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in student-led programming, including budget oversight, financial reporting, and comprehensive risk management assessment.

  • Demonstrated history of working within a higher education setting.

  • Strong track record of developing and maintaining relationships with external partners, including non-profits, educational institutions, and event vendors.

  • Skilled in community outreach and partnership building to enhance program visibility and impact.

Special Instructions to the Applicants:

The anticipated rate of pay for this position is $20.29 - $23.19 per hour. The final rate of pay will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and internal equity considerations.
