UCF IT:
UCF IT is the central information technology organization at the University of Central Florida, providing technology services and support to faculty, staff, and students. Reporting to the Vice President for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer, UCF IT comprises several key departments, including Infrastructure & Operations, Telecommunications, Enterprise Application Development, Information Security, Instructional Resources, and Client Services. UCF IT collaborates with university stakeholders through governance frameworks and advisory committees to ensure alignment with UCF’s strategic goals. With a focus on innovation, security, and excellent service delivery, UCF IT supports the university’s mission of teaching, learning, research, and community engagement.
The Opportunity:
The Applications Programmer III- Digital Solutions performs custom application development, integration development, ERP development, and database management. This position also provides client support services and infrastructure/server management. Additionally, the Applications Programmer III- Digital Solutions designs, codes, tests, debugs, integrates, modifies, and documents computer programs and applications.
Responsibilities:
Performs programming to prepare specifications of computer programs and applications for the development of new applications, modifications and/or enhancements to current applications, or ongoing maintenance of existing applications. Implements user interface based on system design, documents work, packages scripts for deployment, codes, integrates, tests, and debugs databases and applications, and creates end-user documentation. May create, modify, and maintain SQL relational database tables using SQL scripting language. Maintains, updates, and improves application servers. Develops and maintains custom web applications. Manages projects/processes, working independently with limited supervision. Coaches and reviews the work of lower-level professionals. Problems faced are difficult and sometimes complex.
Consults with users and departments to analyze and define business processes and workflows to ensure effective corresponding computer programs and applications. Provides technical guidance to colleagues as appropriate. Troubleshoots technical issues and recommends enterprise hardware and software modifications.
Provides technical support and server management. Works with various vendors and UCF constituents to configure and test new functionality of software integrations. Ensures security of integrations following UCF policies and procedures.
Develops integrations, applications, enhancements, and automation solutions to solve business problems. Identifies opportunities for process improvement. Participates in process improvement projects. Mentors student interns and leads internship projects.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of relevant experience; or High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 8 years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information
Preferred Qualifications:
Technical Skills and Experience:
Web development knowledge of languages and frameworks such as C#.NET, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, HTTPS, SOAP, SQL Connections, and REST APIs.
Basic server administration knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
Basic information security knowledge.
Basic knowledge of user experience (UX) design, ITIL framework, and Agile/Scrum work methodology.

Special Instructions to the Applicants:
This is not a remote position. Up to 1-2 hybrid work days per week may be available following a probationary period, depending on work duties, university and department policies, and supervisor approval.
The anticipated salary range for this position is $64,518 - $75,000. The final salary will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and internal equity considerations.
