The Opportunity:
UCF IT is seeking a talented Applications Programmer IV to join our team and play a key role in building and supporting enterprise-grade solutions that power critical university operations. In this position, you will design, develop, and maintain custom applications and databases supporting our Document Imaging Management System, working across the full software lifecycle—from architecture and coding to integration, deployment, and ongoing support. You will also provide technical consultation, client support, and infrastructure/server administration to ensure reliable, secure, and high-performing systems. Responsibilities:
Application Development & Administration
Design, develop, enhance, deploy, and support enterprise web applications and databases, including the Document Imaging Management System.
Prepare technical and functional specifications; implement user interfaces through coding, integration, testing, debugging, and postproduction support.
Develop and maintain custom web applications, utilities, and SQL databases for operational, reporting, and administrative needs.
Perform system maintenance, monitor application health, and proactively resolve issues.
Maintain, configure, and improve application servers and supporting infrastructure.
Provide application-level end-user support and maintain accurate technical documentation and user manuals.
Assist with system migrations, upgrades, and integrations.
Manage projects and processes independently with limited supervision.
Technical Support, Consultation & Other Duties
Provide application and system-level technical support, including server management and vendor coordination.
Collaborate with users and departments to analyze business processes and translate requirements into effective technical solutions.
Ensure system and integration security in compliance with UCF policies and procedures.
Provide technical guidance and recommend enterprise-level hardware and software improvements.
Support related projects or initiatives across teams as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of relevant experience; or High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 8 years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).
Preferred Qualifications:
4+ years of hands-on experience developing and supporting enterprise applications using C#, VB.NET, JavaScript, PowerShell, ASP.NET/.NET technologies, Microsoft SQL Server, IIS, Visual Studio, Active Directory, Power Automate, document imaging platforms (e.g., OpenText, Kofax, OnBase), and Windows Server 2019 or later.
Strong experience administering document imaging systems, including workflow design, configuration, and application development.
Experience supporting both on-premises and cloud-based document imaging platforms (e.g., Process360, OnBase).
Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining APIs and web service integrations, including integrations with cloud services (e.g., Azure) and enterprise ERP systems.
Experience using cloud technologies to build, deploy, and support web applications, including implementation of security controls such as multi-factor authentication (MFA).
Working knowledge of information security principles and best practices for enterprise applications and document management systems.
Exposure to or familiarity with AI-enabled capabilities in document imaging solutions, such as automated document classification, data extraction, and workflow automation.
Special Instructions to the Applicants:
This position requires occasional off-hours work, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends, to support system maintenance and upgrade activities.
The anticipated salary range for this position is $75,809 - $94,761. The final salary will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and internal equity considerations.
