New Student and Family Programs:
New Student and Family Programs at the University of Central Florida is a critical unit to the success of new students and families at UCF. We provide a strong foundation for new students and their supporters to establish their unique pathways to student success. We aim to lead the way in providing world-class onboarding experiences that build a culture of community, discovery, and innovation to enhance and maximize student success and well-being. Situated within Student Success and Well-Being (SSWB), NSFP oversees new student orientation for both FTIC (first time in college) and transfer students in addition to the Pegasus Parent Program, which includes Family Weekend.
The Opportunity:
UCF’s New Student and Family Programs (NSFP) is currently accepting applications for an Associate Director. This role will provide oversight of the operationalization of Orientation and Transition programs for a rapidly growing and varied student population. This is inclusive of all UCF campuses (Main Campus, specialized, UCF Connect, UCF Online).
Responsibilities:
Provides comprehensive oversight of all UCF Orientation programs across main and specialized campuses and online modalities.
Collaborates with the Assistant Director to design and implement aligned, yet distinct, Family & Guest Orientation programs.
Develops communications that support students and families from admission through the first semester and builds partnerships with campus stakeholders and external vendors to ensure effective, high-quality orientation and onboarding experiences.
Provides day-to-day event management, schedules development, logistics, room reservations, and production of the overall student orientation experience, including working with campus entities and special populations towards communication and participation in, and related to, new student orientation and onboarding.
Manages orientation web reservation system VisualZen, Inc. (VZ). Responsibilities include testing the programming of orientation sessions within VZ (Main Campus, UCF Connect, UCF Online, and specialized campuses), monitoring event registrations, scheduling event e-mails, and updating necessary material.
Develops training and leadership curriculum for all student positions within NSFP and establishes assessment measures to ensure alignment of training and development opportunities with student leader outcomes.
Provides direct supervision and leadership to two Student Programs Coordinator II positions and general leadership to the Orientation Team (including Orientation Leaders who are supervised by the Student Programs Coordinators, and the Production Techs).
Develops comprehensive assessment plan to understand and improve the overall orientation experience, which includes surveys for FTIC Students, Transfer Students, Campus Partners, and Student Leaders.
Assists with implementation of NSFP’s Institutional Effectiveness plan.
Manages fund allocation of the orientation budget and orientation leader budget.
Reviews quarterly reports and assesses the allocation or reallocation of funds within the departmental budget.
Other duties as assigned, including but not limited to, representing New Student and Family Programs on various university-wide committees and overseeing the day-to-day operations of NSFP in the absence of the Director.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's and 6+ years of relevant experience or Master’s degree and 4+ years of relevant experience with at least 2+ year(s) of leadership experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, or a related field, with 4–5 years of professional experience in a university setting.
Demonstrated experience designing, implementing, and defining the strategic vision for large-scale orientation or transition programs. This includes developing comprehensive assessment plans to measure impact on undergraduate FTIC or Transfer student success.
Demonstrated experience designing, implementing, and assessing comprehensive training programs and curricula aligned with organizational goals and defined strategic outcomes.
Proven ability to act as a primary liaison, effectively collaborating and communicating with a wide range of constituents, campus partners, and external stakeholders to achieve departmental goals.
Exceptional ability to coordinate intricate events and manage multiple high-stakes projects simultaneously, with a proven track record of prioritizing competing demands in a fast-paced environment.

Highly developed, positive interpersonal skills with the ability to engage a diverse population and maintain a level-headed, professional demeanor during high-stress situations.
Extremely detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage the logistics of complex programming while maintaining creative problem-solving skills.
Special Instructions to the Applicants:
The anticipated salary range for this position is $56,030- $62,334. The final salary will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and internal equity considerations.

Position requires a valid Class E driver's license. This position may involve driving to various locations on and off campus to conduct University business.
