The Opportunity:

The Rosen College of Hospitality Management (RCHM) at the University of Central Florida (UCF) invites applications for a 12-month associate professor or professor and director of the School of Hospitality Leadership.  This position is located at the newly renovated UCF Rosen College campus and has an anticipated start date in  August 2026.

This position reports to the Dean of the Rosen College of Hospitality Management and is responsible for the school’s academic programs (including curriculum), administration, faculty recruitment, planning, and financial affairs. The director acts as the school’s advocate to fulfill the missions of the school, college, and university, while also participating on the college’s Executive Committee. They will represent the school to students, faculty, administration, and the industry. They will lead the faculty in pursuit of grants and contracts as well as develop a flow of research from the school. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Hold the rank of a tenured professor or associate professor in hospitality, tourism, or a related field at an accredited university. Associate professors are expected to obtain the rank of professor within two years of appointment.

  • Meet the UCF Rosen College requirements for tenure.

  • A Ph.D.  from an accredited institution, with at least one degree in Hospitality Management, Tourism Management, or a related field.

  • A demonstrated record of teaching, research, and service commensurate with a tenured faculty appointment at the rank of associate professor or professor.

  • Demonstrated success in academic and educational leadership roles. Ability to communicate and interact effectively with others and promote and maintain a collaborative professional and positive departmental culture.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement innovative academic programs and to lead recruitment and enrollment strategies.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, manage and mentor diverse faculty at all levels.

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships with a variety of internal institutional stakeholders across multiple levels (i.e., departmental, college, university) as well as external organizations and their stakeholders.

  • Leadership in major academic and/or professional organizations in the hospitality and/or tourism discipline.

  • Demonstrated fundraising ability and/or evidence of working closely with relevant (likely college or university-level) development/foundation units.

  • A record of research publications in hospitality and/or tourism (and/or closely related disciplines).
