The Opportunity:
Join our dynamic parking team, committed to delivering exceptional operational support. This position will provide direct support for providing operational parking support during events, including assisting the parking events team with ensuring parking spaces are reserved, managing traffic flow inside garages and lots, and providing guests with directions and event information. The incumbent will provide support for UCF football game days and university events, including commencements, and will monitor and report parking capacities to the event supervisor, as well as any issues that may occur.
Responsibilities:
Reserves parking spaces for all events. Ensures the best customer service by flagging vehicles and pedestrians attending events. Supports parking operations during events, including events taking place at the main campus, Rosen, Health Sciences, and Downtown campuses. Monitors and guards reserved spaces and assist event attendees with parking in designated locations. Monitors and reports parking capacities during Arena events and ensures smooth flow of traffic within parking garages and lots. Assists with mandatory events such as all UCF football games and UCF commencements.
Answers questions regarding event information and provides directions as needed. Assists with the placement of traffic devices and reconciling equipment after the event ends. Understands the layout of all campuses and locations of all UCF event venues. Provides operational parking support during peak periods by communicating parking capacities and directing students to open parking lots/garages. Deploys and retrieves MOT devices for lots and garages.
Provides feedback on event situations to the intermediate supervisor. Reports suspicious behavior and activity directly to the university police department. Reports hazards and assists with basic maintenance of parking lots and garages during non-peak periods. Assists with the annual count of parking spaces.
Assists with supporting requests during emergencies or as directed.
Assists with all transportation needs related to the student shuttle contractor or e-scooters. Patrols the main campus for misplaced e-scooters.
Assists with inventorying cones, barricades, and signage.
Provides support for Auxiliary services, which include orientations, cashiering, surveying, or staffing.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or Equivalent and 0+ years of relevant experience. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in a customer service role.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Special Instructions to the Applicants:
The anticipated hourly rate for this position is $15.00.
This position will require patrolling the campus in varying outdoor and climatic conditions.
Hours are based on event availability and are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
Position requires a valid Class E driver’s license. The position may involve driving to various locations on and off campus to conduct University business.
