The Opportunity:

The Facilities Specialist I supports security- and event-related campus operations at the UCF Health Sciences Campus, UCF Health Gateway, UCF Health Quadrangle, UCF Health Mobile Clinic, and leased facilities for UCF College of Medicine clerkship programs.  Travel to these locations may be necessary.  This position needs to be flexible to support after-hours and weekend events.  This position has been identified as department critical personnel.

Responsibilities:

  • Supports the UCF Health Mobile Clinic operations and is the primary driver of the mobile unit when clinic days are planned in the community.

  • Assists Mobile Clinic manager with setup and breakdown of the mobile unit at the end of each clinic day.

  • Maintains a maintenance schedule for the vehicle and coordinates service to least impact clinics.

  • Greets and checks in visitors; provide directions to meeting spaces. 

  • Accept mail and package deliveries; notifies recipients. 

  • Issues temporary parking decals to students, staff, and faculty. 

  • Provides tours to guests and new employees when requested.

  • Monitors closed circuit security camera systems on a daily basis. 

  • Reports any suspicious behavior, inoperable cameras, and/or server issues to the Manager, Security Management. 

  • Escorts vendors during camera system installations, repairs, and replacements, when necessary.

  • Utilizes dnaFusion, TRAKA, and IDMS badging to create, issue, and deactivate badges; to open and secure rooms during special events, to remove / grant access to Students, Staff, and Faculty; and to issue and secure building and office.

  • Schedules rooms for meetings and special events using the Astra Scheduling software.  Supports COM special events, such as the Anatomy Lab annual CT scans. 

  • Event support includes, but is not limited to, setup and tear down of tables, chairs, and signage; transportation; and Welcome Desk coverage.

  • Issues work orders for facility improvements and maintenance. 

  • Performs minor repairs to office items, installs whiteboards, and assembles equipment / furniture, including but not limited to, carts, basketball hoops, chairs, etc.

  • Other duties as assigned to include but not limited to timely completion of university and college trainings and updates. 

  • Maintain a clean driving record and Class B or greater Commercial Driver License. 

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or Equivalent and 0+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Security and customer service experience.

  • Critical thinking skills and sound judgment.

  • Team-player that will support and foster our positive work environment.

  • Class D Security License.

  • Position requires a valid Class B driver’s license or greater Commercial driver’s license. This position may involve driving to various locations on and off campus to conduct University business.

Health Assessment Required:  

The UCF policy requires completion and passing of a physical exam for this position.
