The Opportunity:

The HR Business Center within Facilities and Business Operations is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented HR Partner I to join its team. This entry-level role provides foundational HR generalist experience and plays a key part in delivering core HR services—including workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, and employee engagement—across the division. A primary focus of this position is supporting event-based recruitment, a growing priority that requires strong coordination skills and a proactive approach.

As a developing strategic partner, the HR Partner I will contribute to consistent, compliant, and service-oriented HR operations while supporting a wide range of human resources functions.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and support recruitment-focused events, including logistics, materials, communication, and follow-up to ensure effective execution and continuous improvement.

  • Assist with core HR functions such as recruitment, onboarding, offboarding, payroll, and employee engagement, ensuring alignment with institutional policies and divisional goals.

  • Provide timely and accurate support for HR operations, maintaining service quality and adherence to service-level agreements (SLAs).

  • Provide support in managing high-volume HR workloads while maintaining continuity and adherence to service-level agreements (SLAs).

  • Support data tracking and reporting to inform workforce planning, compliance monitoring, and decision-making, including performance evaluations, training, and recurring HR cycles.

  • Offer consultative payroll support by resolving inquiries, ensuring time and labor reporting accuracy, and helping maintain compliance with university policies.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and 0+ years of relevant experience or combination of relevant comparable education and experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information.  

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of relevant HR Generalist experience, particularly in recruitment, onboarding, or HR operations.

  • Prefers candidate with the ability to communicate in both English and Spanish in order to work effectively with customers and team members.

  • Experience partnering with leadership on HR issues and a track record of resolutions while achieving results that contribute to business initiatives.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and guide leadership.

  • Familiarity with HR systems and communication tools, such as Microsoft Office Suite, record management systems, and Workday or similar systems.

  • Prior experience in a customer service-oriented role with the ability to interact professionally and provide courteous responses to inquiries from faculty and partners.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field; HR Certificate preferred.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

  • The anticipated salary range for this position is $48,722 to $54,203. The final rate will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and internal equity considerations.

  • Position requires a valid Class E driver’s license. The position may involve driving to various locations on and off campus to conduct University business.
