The Opportunity:
The College of Nursing is seeking part-time Simulated Participants (SP) for the Dr. Phillips Nursing Pavilion – Lake Nona.
A Simulated Participant (SP) is a trained individual who plays a vital role in healthcare education by consistently and accurately portraying all aspects of a patient, family member, or other role as required. SPs support nursing and healthcare students through realistic and immersive learning experiences.
This may include:
Personality and History: Representing the emotional tone, background, and behavioral traits of the assigned role.
Physical Findings: Reacting authentically to clinical scenarios to support realistic learning experiences. Simulated Participants must be able to provide individualized feedback on interpersonal and clinical skills to learners and facilitators. Training will be provided.

Responsibilities:
What You Will Do:
Portray all aspects of a patient scenario—including history of current medical problem, affect/behavior, and physical findings—in a standardized, accurate, and reliable manner.
Accept ongoing feedback and incorporate it into case simulations.
Respond to emails in a timely manner.
Be punctual and honor scheduled appointments and commitments.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma; 0+ years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Acting or performance experience is a plus, preferably in healthcare simulation or educational settings.
Excellent communication and improvisational skills.
Experience using computers, including accessing email and work-related applications.
Familiarity with teleconferencing platforms (e.g., Zoom, Teams).
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Special Instructions to the Applicants:
This position is located in the Dr. Phillips Nursing Pavilion at UCF's Academic Health Sciences Campus in Lake Nona (6825 Lake Nona Boulevard, Orlando, FL 32827).
Schedule: Approximately 5–10 hours per assignment when selected for simulation experiences.
Hours: Simulations typically run for 5–8 hours, often starting at 7:30 AM Days: Monday–Friday, with occasional evenings and Saturdays.
