The Opportunity:
The Accountant II plays a critical role in supporting the UCF Foundation, Inc. by performing high-level accounting and financial reconciliation with a focus on gift contributions, donor funds, and compliance. This position requires independent decision-making while adhering to established Foundation policies and procedures. The ideal candidate has experience in nonprofit accounting, financial reconciliations, and Workday systems.
Responsibilities:
Gift & Contribution Accounting – Review deposit batch documentation for contributions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Foundation policies.
Financial Reconciliation – Prepare, maintain, and reconcile various accounting records, including funds on hold reports, donor database comparisons, and monthly audits of contribution revenue.
Workday & CRM Data Management – Utilize Workday, the Foundation’s CRM donor database, and banking software systems for financial tracking and reconciliation.
Scholarship & Funding Disbursements – Manage First Generation scholarship requests, state license plate disbursements, and related reconciliations.
Journal Entries & Reporting – Prepare monthly sales tax reports, journal entries, matching gift reconciliations, and ad-hoc financial adjustments.
Accounting Support & Guidance – Provide technical assistance to colleges and divisions regarding accounting policies, Workday procedures, and financial best practices.
System Testing & Compliance – Assist in testing Workday configurations and updates to ensure system functionality, and support year-end audits and Form 990 reporting.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and 3+ years of accounting or related experience.
Strong knowledge of financial reconciliations, and journal entries.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and data analysis).
Experience in nonprofit accounting, particularly gift and contribution accounting.
Proficiency in Workday Financials and donor database CRM systems.
Familiarity with fund accounting, scholarship disbursements, and matching programs.
Ability to interpret and apply accounting policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Special Instructions to the Applicants:
The anticipated salary for a well-qualified candidate is $48,722 - $61,000. Advancement and Partnerships values the unique contributions that each team member brings to our division. The determination of a successful candidate's starting salary will vary based on several factors, including education and relevant experience. The anticipated pay scale indicated for this position generally applies to candidates who meet the minimum requirements and several of the preferred qualifications outlined above.
