UCF IT is the central information technology organization at the University of Central Florida, providing technology services and support to faculty, staff, and students. Reporting to the Vice President for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer, UCF IT comprises several key departments, including Infrastructure & Operations, Telecommunications, Enterprise Application Development, Information Security, Instructional Resources, and Client Services. UCF IT collaborates with university stakeholders through governance frameworks and advisory committees to ensure alignment with UCF’s strategic goals. The Opportunity:
UCF IT seeks applications for an experienced Applications Programmer III - ServiceNow & ITSM Platform. The Applications Programmer III will maintain, support, and enhance UCF IT's ServiceNow platform. This programmer also will manage databases, assist with server and infrastructure support, and provide client support services to campus users.
We are looking for a skilled and proactive Applications Programmer with strong experience in ServiceNow development, enterprise system integration, and application support. We especially welcome candidates with ServiceNow platform management experience, a solid foundation in web technologies (HTML5, JavaScript, AngularJS), and who are comfortable working with APIs and automation tools to streamline services. The ideal candidate is adaptable, innovative, and able to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to a variety of stakeholders. They are committed to outstanding service, data security, and thrive in fast-paced, service-focused environments.
Responsibilities:
Programming to prepare specifications of computer programs and applications for development of new applications, modifications and/or enhancements to current applications, or ongoing maintenance of existing applications.
Implements user interface based on system design, documents work, packages scripts for deployment, codes, integrates, tests and debugs databases and applications, and creates end user documentation. May create, modify, and maintain SQL relational database tables using SQL scripting language. Maintains, updates, and improves application servers. Develops and maintains custom web applications.
Provides technical support and server management. Works with various vendors and UCF constituents to configure and test new functionality of software integrations. Ensures security of integrations with respect to UCF policies and procedures. Mentors' student interns and leads internship projects.
Consults with users and departments to analyze and define business processes and workflows to ensure effective corresponding computer programs and applications. Provides technical guidance to colleagues as appropriate. Troubleshoots technical issues and recommends enterprise hardware and software modifications.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of relevant experience; or High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 8 years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information
Preferred Qualifications:
Technical Skills and Experience:
3+ years of experience developing and administering the ServiceNow platform, including ITSM modules, SPM, CMDB, Workflow, Flow Designer, Platform Analytics, and custom scoped applications.
Advanced coding and scripting skills in HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, AngularJS, and the ServiceNow API.
Skilled in planning, designing, configuring, and implementing integrations between core application systems using technologies such as SOAP, ODBC, and REST APIs.
Hands-on experience managing application servers and supporting secure, enterprise-level environments.
Relevant certifications in ServiceNow and/or ITIL Foundation preferred.
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and integration with its services.
Strong understanding of user experience (UX) design principles.
Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and practices.
Experience with automation and orchestration tools to streamline workflows and reduce manual effort.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field preferred.

Special Instructions to the Applicants:
This is not a remote position. Up to 1-2 hybrid workdays per week may be available following a probationary period depending on work duties, university and department policies, and supervisor approval.
The anticipated salary range for this position is $64,518-$75,000. The final salary will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and internal equity considerations.
