School of Performing Arts:
The School of Performing Arts is part of the College of Arts and Humanities and comprises the Music and Theatre programs with more than 100 faculty and staff serving more than 1,000 undergraduate and graduate students earning degrees in the performing arts as well as thousands of students from other majors across the university taking music, theatre and dance classes. It produces outstanding practitioners, educators, and scholars in Music and Theatre while fostering a strong relationship between the community and the artists.
The Opportunity:
Under the direction of the Costume Shop Manager, the Assistant Costume Shop Manager is supporting the day-to-day operations of the costume shop. This role involves supervising student crews and over-hire labor, assisting in production builds, and ensuring smooth workflow. The position may also include opportunities to teach occasional classes, contributing to the educational mission of the department.
Responsibilities:
Assist with supervision and scheduling for costume builds for productions.
Training/supervision of wardrobe crews.
Oversee maintenance of costumes during productions.
Oversee fittings/costume design
Teach/Supervise lab classes.
Supervise student crews and over-hire labor.
Manage scholarship and hourly student workers.
Maintain shop inventory for departmental productions.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's Degree and 0+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficiency in costume technology, including construction techniques and fabric handling.
A minimum of two years of experience working with theatrical costumes in a professional, educational, or repertory setting.
Demonstrated skills in costume fitting, draping, patterning, and other related garment construction techniques.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $20.29- $29.42. The final salary will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and internal equity considerations.
The selected candidate will work occasional nights and weekends during production periods.
