Student Health Services - Providers:
UCF Health - Student Health Services (SHS) provides various primary and specialty care services to help keep students, faculty and staff at their optimum health. The Health Center is located on the Main Campus, and satellite clinics are located at the Academic Health Sciences and Downtown campuses. Our services are designed with students’, faculty and staff needs in mind. The Opportunity:
The Assistant Director of Clinical Programs will provide leadership and oversight for the delivery of compassionate, ethical, and appropriate patient care within Student Health Services (SHS). This role includes direct responsibility for telehealth services at the SHS Downtown, College of Medicine at Lake Nona and UnionWest satellite clinics, as well as providing clinical education to medical residents.
Responsibilities:
Provide competent medical care and prevention education to all patients to foster recovery from acute illness, prevent avoidable medical problems, and sustain and support those with chronic illness or challenged bodies. This includes, but is not limited to, diagnosis, treatment, and minor surgical procedures.
Develop appropriate medical records and correspondence with appropriate peers, university officials, and consultants, as needed.
Coordinate and supervise designated staff.
Oversee department operational complications. Provide oversight for telehealth providers, including those serving downtown patients.
Provide instruction, clinical supervision, and mentorship to medical residents.
Work one day per week at the College of Medicine (COM) clinic, providing telehealth and direct patient care.
Be available for direct communication for consultations by phone from COM Advanced Practice Providers on other days.
Periodically meet with Student Affairs administration at COM to address any quality of care issues, proposed changes in scope of practice, or other clinical or operational issues that require input.
Develop COM clinic policies and procedures and provide oversight of operational issues.
Participate in long-range planning with the Medical Director. Participate in appropriate committees as recommended by the Medical Director. Ensure the timely completion of all required university, Academic Health Sciences Center (AHSC), and SHS trainings.
Ensure the electronic health record (EHR) system is responsive to clinical needs and that users are informed of all changes and developments.
Provide clinical expertise in secure messaging between patients and providers for our two-way patient information and communication web portal.
Provide guidance to the Medical Director and other leadership staff regarding electronic health record keeping, including confidentiality and security, responsiveness to patient needs, and efficient clinical workflow.
Prepare and analyze Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendment (CLIA) waived & other routine tests offered within a clinical lab to ensure the highest quality in the results, within the established timeframe, and in accordance with established policies and procedures (as needed).
Minimum Qualifications:
1+ year(s) of leadership experience, Licensed to practice medicine in accordance with Chapter 458, Florida Statutes, and 4+ years of relevant experience. Completion of a residency program may substitute for the required experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
Demonstrated experience in college health services or a comparable high-volume outpatient primary care setting.
Successful completion of a three-year residency program in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
Board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.

Excellent communication skills, and ability to relate well with staff and students in a college health environment.
