The Opportunity:
The Budget Analyst III position is part of a team responsible for the planning, development, and financial reporting surrounding the Academic Affairs division operating budget. This role assists management with strategic funding decisions by preparing executive reports and data as required. It offers significant exposure to high-level strategic decision-making and opportunities for professional development within the university.
Classification Title: Finance/Budget Analyst III
Responsibilities:
Prepare financial analysis, including forecasting, trend analysis, and variance analysis of college and administrative units within the financial purview of the university’s Provost.
Collaborate closely with the division’s 13 finance business centers and university budget office team.
Development of executive reports.
Preparation of routine and ad hoc reporting to internal and external parties.
Prepare, process, and review routine and non-routine budget amendments.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Masters degree and 4+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information
Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years of progressively responsible experience in Accounting or Finance.
Recent work history to include at least one of the following three areas: 1.) financial reporting. 2.) financial analysis, and/or. 3.) budget development and monitoring experience. Candidates possessing a combination of all three areas will receive greater consideration.
Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance, public accounting experience, and/or CPA license is preferred but not required.
Strong Excel skills and Adaptive Planning or Workday reporting experience is a plus.
Demonstrated competence with extracting and compiling large amounts of data.
Strong analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills are necessary.
Ability to multi-task and meet simultaneous deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
Verbal and written communication skills necessary to prepare clear and concise correspondence and reports at a level appropriate for the intended audience
