The Analytics and Integrated Planning (AIP) division brings expertise in strategic data planning, advanced analysis, reporting, and institutional research to the university, with the explicit purpose of leveraging institutional data and enhancing analytics to enable robust decision-making across the institution.
The Opportunity:
UCF is seeking a Business Data Analyst II to serve as a liaison for the Office of Research Data Warehouse conversion project in collaboration with the Division of Analytics and Integrated Planning. This role coordinates business analysis tasks including gathering requirements, creating specification documentation, leading testing and validation, tracking project status, advancing data literacy, and facilitating communication with stakeholders across multiple project components.

This is a visiting and renewable position. Visiting positions are based on circumstances, such as funding sources, which control the length of time for which the position is available. Position will be renewable up to a period of four years.
Responsibilities:
Requirements Gathering & Documentation:
Research, collect, and analyze business requirements and produce structured documentation needed to define the scope of multiple technical projects simultaneously.
Conduct surveys, focus groups, and interviews to collect, evaluate, and document stakeholder needs.
Testing and Validation:
Work independently to develop comprehensive testing plans and execute functional testing with end users.
Troubleshoot problems and collaborate with development and project teams to resolve issues that can be difficult.
Ensure project deliverables meet all documented requirements and obtain final sign off from stakeholders.
Data Literacy:
Lead the creation of clear and concise training materials to explain processes and reports.
Create and maintain a library of detailed processes and data source documentation using standardized templates.
User Training:
Provide support for end users including group training sessions and one-on-one instruction.
Prepare presentations, user guides and quick-reference sheets to equip users with knowledge and skills needed to effectively use new systems.
Project Monitoring:
Track progress against project plans to ensure alignment with scope and timelines.
Maintain up-to-date documentation, prepare status reports and serve as a project liaison to communicate updates to leadership and project teams.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of relevant experience; or High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 6 years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with technology applications in an academic or administrative setting.
Proficiency with Power BI or similar business intelligence tools.
Experience explaining complex data or technical concepts to non‑technical audiences, including stakeholders and end users.
Experience working in higher education is highly desirable.
Knowledge of cloud platforms, relational databases, and data warehousing concepts, supporting data conversion and reporting initiatives.
Excellent planning and organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Special Instructions to the Applicants:
The anticipated salary range for this position is $67,500-$80,000. The final salary will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and internal equity considerations.
