The Opportunity:
The Chief Brand and Marketing Officer (CBMO) serves as UCF’s senior leader responsible for enterprise marketing strategy and brand stewardship. As UCF’s chief brand architect and marketing strategist, the CBMO is responsible for developing and executing audience-informed, data-driven marketing initiatives aligned with institutional priorities—including enrollment, research, advancement, and reputation. This leader champions UCF’s brand as a strategic asset and enables colleges, divisions, and units across the university to bring the brand to life with consistency and impact.
Responsibilities:
Enterprise Marketing Strategy: Leads the development and execution of integrated, multi-platform marketing strategies aligned with UCF’s strategic plan and brand platform. Oversees audience segmentation, campaign planning, performance optimization, and cross-unit alignment.
Brand Leadership and Stewardship: Guides the evolution and expression of UCF’s brand platform, messaging architecture, and visual identity. Ensures consistency across all communications touch points—enrollment, external relations, research, and unit marketing—through scalable frameworks and governance.
Team Leadership and Organizational Management: Oversees a centralized marketing organization including Creative Services, Content, Digital Experience, Paid Media, and Brand Strategy teams. Fosters a culture of creativity, collaboration, innovation, inclusion, and data-informed excellence.
Cross-Campus Integration and Partnership: Leads the Marketing Leadership Council to coordinate marketing activity across UCF’s colleges and units. Partners with leaders in Enrollment, Advancement, Academic Affairs, and Research to align priorities and amplify impact.
Innovation and Future Readiness: Explores and advances emerging media platforms, immersive storytelling tools, and marketing technologies that enable the university to engage audiences in new and meaningful ways. Champions continuous learning, brand innovation, and creative experimentation.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree and 12+ years of relevant experience with at least 5+ years of leadership experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).
Preferred Qualifications:
12+ years of progressive leadership experience in brand, marketing, communications, or advertising, preferably within large, decentralized organizations.
Demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary marketing teams, including strategy, content, creative, digital, and performance marketing functions.
Experience building and evolving enterprise brand platforms, messaging frameworks, and governance systems across multiple units or service lines.
Proven ability to plan and execute integrated marketing campaigns that drive measurable impact.
Experience with marketing analytics, CRM, SEO/SEM, digital experience platforms (DXP), and marketing automation tools to guide data-driven decision making.
A deep understanding of balancing central brand stewardship with local flexibility, especially in multi-college or multi-unit environments.
Experience managing agency partnerships and/or building in-house agency-style teams.
