The Opportunity:

UCF Advancement & Partnerships, the Director of Alumni Engagement plays a pivotal leadership role in strengthening the lifelong connection between UCF and its alumni community. This position leads a team of engagement professionals and is responsible for developing and executing innovative programs, events, and communications that deepen alumni involvement and advance the strategic priorities of the Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving team within UCF Advancement & Partnerships.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced leader in alumni relations, nonprofit engagement, or a related field who is passionate about building community and driving meaningful participation at scale.

Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Operations

  • Lead and manage a team of alumni engagement professionals, providing day-to-day direction, professional development, and performance evaluation. Partner with the Assistant Vice President of Alumni Engagement on budget planning, personnel matters, and strategic initiatives.

Program Development & Innovation

  • Design and continuously refine a portfolio of alumni engagement programs that create meaningful value for participants, expand volunteer involvement, and reflect current best practices. Benchmark peer institutions and industry trends to keep UCF's alumni engagement offerings competitive and forward-thinking. Travel as needed to execute or support events.

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Collect, analyze, and apply engagement data to assess program effectiveness and guide strategic decision-making. Utilize CASE (Council for Advancement and Support of Education) global engagement metrics to ensure consistent, accountable reporting across key dimensions of alumni participation.

Campus Collaboration

  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with key university offices and programs, including Admissions, Athletics, Career Services, Student Involvement, and academic colleges and departments, to create integrated engagement opportunities across the institution.

Budget & Compliance

  • Prepare and manage budget projections, track expenditures, and evaluate the return on investment for programs and initiatives. Ensure compliance with the division's data privacy and integrity standards in all constituent-facing activities.

Communications & Content Strategy

  • Guide the engagement team on best practices for alumni outreach through a variety of channels, including email, social media, web content, direct mail, text campaigns, and print publications.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree and 6+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience in alumni relations, advancement, or constituent engagement within a higher education setting.

  • Demonstrated success leading and developing a team of professional staff.

  • Strong program development skills with experience designing and scaling engagement initiatives.

  • Familiarity with CASE engagement metrics or other industry frameworks for measuring constituent participation.

  • Experience using CRM or alumni engagement platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Slate, EverTrue, or similar).

  • Proficiency in analyzing data to inform strategy and measure program effectiveness.

  • Experience managing budgets, tracking expenditures, and evaluating program ROI.

The most successful candidates may possess the following qualities:

  • Proven ability to build collaborative relationships across a complex organization with multiple stakeholders.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience overseeing multi-channel communications strategies.

  • A genuine enthusiasm for fostering community and connecting alumni to their institution.

Special Instructions to the Applicants:

The standard schedule for this position is Monday-Friday; 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. This role requires flexibility for evenings, weekends, and travel to support events.

The final determination of a successful candidate's starting salary will vary based on several factors, including education and relevant experience. The anticipated pay scale indicated for this position generally applies to candidates who meet the minimum requirements and several of the preferred qualifications outlined above. All offers are contingent on successful background and reference screens.

Position requires a valid Class E driver’s license. This position may involve driving to various locations on and off campus to conduct University business.
