The Opportunity:
The Strategic Campus Planning department within Facilities and Business Operations is seeking a Director of Real Estate and Property Management II. This role serves as the operational leader for real estate and property management, responsible for guiding a team that supports the university in real estate transactions and the day-to-day management of a portfolio of partnership and Direct Support Organization (DSO) properties.
Responsibilities:
Lead the negotiation, execution, and administration of real estate transactions on behalf of the university, including lease agreements (as landlord and tenant), property acquisitions and sales, and other activities related to securing and managing property rights.
Partner with the Associate Vice President for Strategic Campus Planning to develop and implement comprehensive business plans and annual operating budgets for the real estate office and managed properties. Monitor financial performance through quarterly reviews and year-end projections. Manage cash reserves, capital replacement strategies, and ensure strong fiscal stewardship through internal controls, spot audits, and compliance frameworks. Provide strategic oversight to drive continuous improvement across all operations.
Oversee daily operations of university-affiliated properties, particularly those owned or managed through partnership entities or DSOs such as the UCF Foundation. Coordinate with internal service units (e.g., Facilities Operations) and manage relationships with third-party providers to ensure effective property management and high-quality service delivery.
Administer and enforce university-wide policies, procedures, and regulations related to real estate transactions and property operations. Ensure all policies align with institutional goals and comply with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors or Masters degree and 8+ years of relevant experience, including 3+ years of leadership experience. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information
Preferred Qualifications:
8+ years of progressive leadership experience in real estate, commercial property management, or facilities operations, preferably within higher education, public sector, or large-scale portfolio management.
Demonstrated success negotiating and managing complex real estate transactions, including leases, acquisitions, dispositions, and public-private partnerships.
Experience overseeing daily operations of various property portfolios, including partnership or DSO-owned assets.
Strong knowledge of property management, best practices, capital planning, and long-term financial forecasting.
Familiarity with university, nonprofit, or government organizational structures and compliance requirements.
Master’s degree in real estate, business administration, finance, public administration, or a related field.
Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders, external partners, and third-party service providers.
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and contract management skills.
Commitment to fiscal stewardship, innovation, and continuous improvement in real estate and property management functions.
Professional certification or licensure in real estate or property management (e.g., CCIM, CPM, RPA).

This is an Auxiliary (AUX) funded position. Employment is subject to availability of funding and may cease at the time funding for this employment is depleted.
The anticipated salary range for this position is $122,980 to $169,098. The final salary will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and internal equity considerations.
This position may be eligible for a sign-on bonus.
Position requires a valid Class E driver’s license. The position may involve driving to various locations on and off campus to conduct University business.
