The mission of the UCF Department of Mathematics is to offer the opportunity for excellence and development to students with visionary and relevant programs of high quality at the undergraduate and graduate levels and to advance mathematical research to benefit society. The Opportunity:
UCF's Department of Mathematics seeks applications for a Graduate Admissions Coordinator I! This coordinator provides direct support to the Graduate Program Director in all administrative functions and assists with the daily operation of the main office.

Responsibilities:
Liaison with Graduate Studies for any changes made by the State of Florida regarding graduate program requirements. Departmental liaison with Graduate Studies and College Graduate Coordinator, maintaining current status of student records, intent forms, waivers, course substitutions, adds, drops, withdrawals, etc.
Management of the admissions process. This includes communication with prospective students, review of applications in SLATE, informing students of application requirements, dissemination of applications to the graduate committee, entering admissions decisions, and organizing orientations. Handle all relevant correspondence.
Administer the qualifying exam process, including maintaining exams, contacting students, and tracking completion. Administer and track assessment of the thesis/dissertation for MS and PhD students. Review student degree audits and produces reports to the Graduate Program Director regarding student progress.
Coordinate and maintain all graduate student records. This includes graduate degree pre-certification, updating, and processing programs of study. Develop and keep current student plans of study. Assists the Graduate Program Director with assessment of the graduate program.
Assist the Graduate Program Director with student recruitment and training. Maintain recruitment brochures and other information about the program, including assisting the revision of the website, social media, graduate catalog and handbook. Attend recruitment activities, and assist in planning, coordinating, and executing program recruitment, training, or other events.
Assist with the preparation of graduate contracts and communicate hiring requests to the assigned HR Coordinator. Coordinate with HR, CGS, and the student employee to ensure an accurate and timely hire. Communicate duties and assignments to graduate assistants.
Assist with the daily operation of the main office, including printing exams and other duties as assigned by Graduate Program Director, Associate Chair and Chair. Type confidential correspondence and administrative lists, and attending department meetings as needed. This position supervises one federal work study student, as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's and 2+ years of relevant experience or Master’s degree and 0+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in an educational setting, with a preference for higher education.
Office management experience.
Familiarity with students records and/or student admissions.
Knowledge of Slate, Workday, PeopleSoft, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
