College of Medicine:

The UCF College of Medicine educates and inspires individuals to be exemplary physicians and scientists, leaders in medicine, scholars in discovery, and adopters of innovative technology to improve the health and well-being of all. The College of Medicine is an LCME-accredited medical college with an annual matriculation of 120 medical students and is part of a new Academic Health Sciences Center, which includes multiple health affairs disciplines. The College of Medicine campus is part of a growing biomedical cluster known as “Medical City” at Lake Nona, which is dedicated to innovation in health and wellness and continues development east of the Orlando International Airport. 

The Opportunity

The Human Resource Coordinator I will serve as a point of contact for staff and faculty regarding general HR inquiries, additionally providing transactional support to Business Partners (HRBP) with recruiting, hiring, employment, and pay changes, faculty searches, etc.

Responsibilities:

  • Address employee questions, resolve minor issues, and escalate complex matters to HR Business Partners/HR Director. Connects employees to other institutional partners when warranted. Responsible for the College of Medicine HR email account.  

  • Provides transactional support to HR Business Partners for recruiting, hiring, managing and tracking employment changes, processing pay changes, etc. Assists HR Business Partners with facilitating faculty searches (i.e., scheduling meetings, posting meeting notices, campus visit coordination, etc.)

  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date employee records, both physical and electronic, and ensuring data accuracy within HR systems (i.e., Workday and DocView). Assists with annual performance appraisal documents and record-keeping into Workday.

  • Supports managers and employees with timekeeping processes. Sends timekeeping reminders and follows up on unsubmitted/unapproved entries to ensure deadline adherence.

  • Maintain working knowledge of all applicable laws, policies, and procedures, and ensure process compliance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, and policies.

  • Other duties as assigned to include but not limited to required university and college trainings and updates.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or Equivalent and 0+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working within higher education, with a preference for knowledge of UCF's environment.

  • At least 3-5 years of professional experience in Human Resources.

  • Hands-on experience with the Workday system.

  • Proven track record of delivering strong customer service.

The most successful candidates may possess the following qualities:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to compose business emails

  • Successful experience working in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities and requests.

Special Instructions to the Applicants:

The salary range for this role is $17.64 - $21.61, with the final offer determined based on your relevant experience and internal equity within our department. 

This position is located at the Health Sciences Campus in Lake Nona.
