The Opportunity:
UCF's College of Sciences seeks experienced HR professionals to join their Human Resources Business Center! The HR Partner III is responsible for training, communicating, and executing Human Resources strategy, policy, and programs for the College of Sciences. This role delivers HR services that address the unique needs of the College in alignment with overall HR strategies.
The Partner III will:
Provide oversight for the HR coordinator’s service delivery and act as a service escalation point and transaction approver.
Foster a culture of engagement and provide professional HR advisory services by creating a respectful and trusting relationship with managers, leaders, and employees within the College of Sciences.
Act as a consultant for all units on workforce planning, talent management, performance management, employee relations, employee engagement, employee rewards, and recognition.
Responsibilities:
Point of contact and subject matter expert regarding staff (A&P and USPS) and OPS (student and non-student) processes (hires, data changes, compensation changes, etc). Review and approve staff recruitment plans and position descriptions for job requisitions submitted by HR coordinators. Serve as back up subject matter expert for faculty, adjunct, and postdoctoral associate processes.
Regularly process employment data reports (Active Workers w/ Incomplete I-9, Student Employee Audit, Workers w/ I-9 Expiring Documents, Upcoming or Expired Employment End Dates, Time Block Summary by Payroll Status, Hourly Workers w/o Time in Prior 30 Days). Distribute incoming Workday help cases and email inquiries to each team member. Regularly review pending/in-progress items on the team's Workday inbox and Workday help cases. Support team members with their cases when needed. Share results with the HR Director and/or with the HR coordinators when needed.
Conduct salary analyses for A&P and USPS new hire employees, salary parity reviews and position reclassifications. Point of contact between the HRBC and UCF Compensation on staff compensation and classification matters.
Assist college level and departmental level leaders with workforce strategies and provide consultation services. Organize and lead employee engagement events and programs. Develop and/or facilitates HR related programs to support educating employees on the university resources available on topics related to benefits, employee relations, organizational development, change management, effective communication, team development and other trainings. Develop evaluations for training and professional development events.
Assist HR Director with initial intake for employee relations matters and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, as requested. Collects and reviews 90 day reviews/goals and conducts exit interviews and produces metrics on workforce in regards to turnover and retention. Assist with performance appraisal process; communication, and collection for probationary period and annually. Reviews for accuracy and provides guidance to supervisors on follow up action plans and recommendations.
Communicate and train HR coordinators and/or units on new/updated HR programs, policies, and processes. Identify and implement process improvements as gaps are identified.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information
Preferred Qualifications:
4+ years progressive HR experience
Experience supervising high volume staffing
1+ year supervising HR professionals
Demonstrated experience collaborating on workforce planning, talent management, employee relations, and employee engagement
Experience working in HR in education, higher education, or the public sector
Experience working with Workday, PeopleSoft, or another large ERP system
