The Opportunity:
The Academic Program Manager will design and lead programs that support high school and undergraduate students, with a focus on students from low-income and first-generation backgrounds, to help them pursue careers in healthcare and STEM fields. This role involves building partnerships with local schools, securing clinical and research opportunities, and fostering mentorship to enhance students’ exposure to medicine, public health, and healthcare research.
Responsibilities:
Oversee Medical Mentorship and Shadowing Program Administration, work directly with the faculty lead, support student initiatives, track student progress, and coordinate meetings, clinical shadowings, workshops, and seminars.
Develop and lead a new mentorship and enrichment program that empowers high-potential high school students from socioeconomically challenged backgrounds through leadership development, STEM exposure, and sustained mentorship. In collaboration with Title I high schools, medical students, and faculty, mentors selected students, fostering their growth into future leaders in science and medicine. Support other high school initiatives and student-led programs.
Execute and support College of Medicine events and celebrations to enhance the culture and climate.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience within K-12 or higher education.
Experience in community service/outreach organizations or ability to establish community partnerships.
Previous experience in program administration.
Experience using Microsoft Office Tools (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Zoom, and Canva.
Experience leading workshops/seminars and public speaking.

Ability to exercise good judgment, discretion, and diplomacy in both verbal and written communications.
Special Instructions to the Applicants:
The anticipated salary range for this position is $48,722- $59,684. The final salary will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and internal equity considerations.
Position requires a valid Class E driver’s license. This position may involve driving to various locations on and off campus to conduct University business.
