UCF Health - Student Health Services (SHS) provides various primary and specialty care services to help keep students, faculty and staff at their optimum health. The Health Center is located on the Main Campus. Our services are designed with students, faculty and staff needs in mind. The Opportunity:
The Academic Health Sciences Center (AHSC) Student Health Team is seeking an Office Support Assistant to join the Health Information Management (HIM) department in support of our commitment to delivering exceptional healthcare to the community we serve. This position is responsible for providing information to customers regarding UCF immunization policies and requirements, medical records release procedures, and general international insurance guidelines. The selected candidate will also offer daily guidance to student workers and ensure the smooth operation of the front desk within the Health Information Management and Compliance department.
Responsibilities:
Staff the reception desk for Health Information Management, facilitate the flow of students and patients, and provide exceptional customer services to ensure a positive experience.
Interpret State University System (SUS) immunization policy for incoming students, address inquiries regarding requirements and provide necessary immunization forms.
Update and disseminate all pertinent immunization requirement information to student and parents.
Conduct one-on-one training and ongoing development of new student (OPS, FWS) staff, while reviewing student staff assignments to ensure quality assurance.
Attend and assist new student orientations and assist with registration process.
Perform all duties as assigned by the Manager, Health Office or designee.
Timely completion of all required university, AHSC and SHS Trainings.
Upload immunization forms into electronic medical record. Maintain ongoing on-line compliance by verifying immunizations for transient students in Florida Shines database with UCF Registrar's Office.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or Equivalent and 0+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with electronic medical record (EMR) systems for uploading and managing health documentation.
Experience interpreting and applying university or healthcare compliance policies, particularly related to immunization and student health requirements.
Proficiency in using student information systems and databases, such as Florida Shines, People Soft and Med Proctor, for verifying academic and health compliance data.
Demonstrated ability to train and supervise part-time or student staff, including monitoring task completion and ensuring adherence to departmental procedures.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Keen attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
