The Opportunity
The School of Modeling, Simulation, and Training (SMST) is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Scholar to join our research team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research at the intersection of artificial intelligence reasoning and renewable energy analytics.
Job Responsibilities
Research:
- Conduct research in AI reasoning, semantic modeling, and knowledge graph development.
- Develop and optimize graph databases for structured knowledge representation.
- Apply neural symbolic AI techniques to enhance machine reasoning and inference capabilities.
- Publish findings in top-tier conferences and journals.
- Manage research projects and support internal/external collaborations
Mentoring:
- Mentor graduate and undergraduate students
Develop new research:
- Support or lead research proposals
Minimum Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong publication record in top-ranking AI conference
- Strong background in knowledge representation, reasoning, and semantic technologies
- Experience with graph neural networks, knowledge graphs, and graph databases
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Experience working on federally funded projects (e.g., Department of Energy, NSF, or similar agencies)
- Experience mentoring students at the graduate or undergraduate level
