The Opportunity:
The College of Nursing invites applications for a part-time research support position on an NIH-funded randomized clinical trial that examines cancer-treatment related side effects and symptom management in adults under treatment for cancer.
Responsibilities:
This position will provide support for a research study in the College of Nursing. The research assistant will recruit participants, collect data, and conduct data management for the research study under the supervision of the faculty.
Screen potential participants who may be eligible to participate in the study.
Coordinate/schedule participants for interviews/data collection.
Recruit participants.
Complete the informed consent process.
Collect data by questionnaires.
Deliver the intervention.
Participate in the ordering and organization of data collection supplies.
Abstract data from medical records, as needed.
Perform lab procedures to collect, transport, and store biological specimens (e.g., blood, saliva), as needed.
Enter data into study databases (e.g., Qualtrics, RedCap).
Prepare study materials.
Follow-up with participants by phone/ e-mail.
Maintain accurate records through daily data entry and tracking of participant data.
Communicate with other research team members.
Participate in weekly project meetings.
Ensure data are maintained in the proper format as required by the study sponsor.
Generate project reports to the supervisor or study coordinator.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or Master’s Degree and 0+ years of relevant experience Or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6). Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a health-related field.
Research experience.
Ability to meet deadlines and handle diverse tasks simultaneously.
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
Creative thinking, self-direction, and detail-oriented.
Ability to work closely and communicate effectively with multiple nursing faculty.
Experience with programs such as Excel, Redcap, and Qualtrics.

Special Instructions to the Applicants:
The research assistant may need to work at various locations, including the College of Nursing campus, Orlando Health Medical Center, various locations of the Orlando Health Cancer Institute, and other clinical sites, as needed.
This is a Contract and Grant (C&G) funded position. Employment is subject to the availability of funding and may cease at the time funding for this employment is depleted.
This is a part-time position.
