University Testing Center:
The University Testing Center serves UCF students and the Central Florida community with high-security proctored testing services, including a wide variety of placement, proficiency, entrance, and exit exams for undergraduate and graduate programs, foreign language exams, distance learning, and many professional certification exams.
The Opportunity:
The UCF University Testing Center (UTC) is currently accepting applications for a Testing Assistant (TEMP). This is a critical, dual-focused role, centered on maintaining the integrity and technical functionality of a high-stakes testing center. This position performs a vital role within the department administering and proctoring standardized exams, ensuring a secure, professional, and well-organized testing environment. In addition, this role supports the technical and operational needs of the center across multiple testing platforms and devices, supporting over 12,000 tests administered annually.
Responsibilities:
Administer and/or proctor placement tests, certification tests, online learning tests and other exams.
Take responsibility for the testing environment, including room setup, cleanliness, and organization of test materials.
Perform daily software and hardware setup as needed to prepare the testing center for usage.
Perform testing software readiness checks, biweekly or as needed.
Troubleshoot multiple testing software and security platforms, network issues, and various testing hardware and peripherals, including but not limited to PCs, displays, headsets, cameras, palm vein scanners, microphones, satellite clocks, mobile devices, and accessibility software.
Check ID and admit students via the necessary software platform and test regulations.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent and 0 years relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in a professional testing administration within a testing center or higher education setting.
Demonstrated ability to deliver high-level customer service.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Ability to work effectively and professionally with faculty, staff, students, vendors, and external guests of the University, fostering positive and productive relationships.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively assist individuals from varied backgrounds and experiences.
Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new equipment, software applications, and systems.
Exceptional accuracy, organizational capability, and problem-solving skills; proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining confidentiality.
Special Instructions to the Applicants:
This is a time-limited funded position. Employment is subject to the availability of funding and may cease at the time funding for this employment is depleted.
The anticipated rate for this position is $15.00/hour.
Applicant must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer, as sponsorship is not available for this position now or in the future.
Candidates may not be currently enrolled as an undergraduate student at time of employment. 3. Candidates who intend to take any standardized test administered by UTC in the next 12 months are not eligible for this position.
This position requires a valid Class E driver’s license and will involve driving to various locations on and off campus to conduct University business.
Selected candidate must obtain all necessary certifications to be registered as a Test Administrator within 3 months of employment.
Schedules are created 2 months in advance, requiring flexibility, to include, early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
Interviews for this position are expected to begin the week of January 12, 2026.
